Some disturbing footage has surfaced online showing a police officer appearing to hit Tyreek Hill while he was in handcuffs.
With Sunday’s slate of NFL games yet to begin, Hill has quickly become the biggest story of the new football season.
ESPN’s Jeff Darlington broke the news of the player’s encounter with police on Sunday morning, reporting that he had been detained for a traffic violation and subsequently released. Hill, who was placed on the ground and cuffed after a verbal altercation with the officers, is expected to play today.
As noted above, a clip is now doing the rounds showing one of the lawmen appearing to hit Hill. The recording is obscured and isn’t definitive, but it shows the officer making a motion toward the player, who immediately goes down.

“There is no justification to assault Tyreek while cuffed! There was no threat!” a third wrote.

Rosenhaus described the encounter as “completely unnecessary.”
“I’m very distraught about it,” he added. “We’re going to have to look into it.”
