Williams is still learning, and his center has an interesting way of helping the Chicago Bears rookie quarterback find his way.
As Williams was making pre-play adjustments against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, hot mics caught Coleman Shelton turning around and trying to correct Williams’s adjustments by yelling, “We’ve got f—ing fire, man!”
Williams responded, “I know, I know.”
For those unfamiliar with the terminology, fire usually refers to a zone blitz, with five defensive players rushing the passer.

The play ended with Williams completing a quick pass to Rome Odunze for four yards.

Caleb Williams was 11-of-15 for 200 yards and 2 TDs, and Chicago was up 27-7 on the Panthers going into halftime.
Williams connected with DJ Moore for a touchdown for the second time in the first half to extend the Bears’ lead over the Panthers.
If the team can hold on to this lead, they will improve their record to 3-2.
Before this game, Williams completed 61% of his passes for 787 yards, three touchdowns, and four interceptions.
