A pair of Miami Dolphins fans were ready to pay whatever it took to get Tyreek Hill out of jail as they thought he had been taken into custody on Sunday morning.
The Fins wide receiver had a bit of an irregular pregame period as he was detained by Miami-Dade police ahead of the early afternoon fixture vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hill and teammate Calais Campbell were both placed in handcuffs after the defensive tackle protested Hill’s treatment by the officers.
The Pro Bowlers were eventually released and were able to play. But it appears that the fans in question jumped the gun, given that they made a call to the police department in an attempt to bail Hill.
The fans offered to pay whatever it took to get the WR out so he could play, expressing some relief when they were told he hadn’t been booked.
