Lip readers on social media believe New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara had a very interesting message for Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton after Thursday night’s game at the Superdome.
Returning to New Orleans as a visitor for the first time as an NFL head coach, Sean Payton led the Broncos to a 33-10 blowout victory over New Orleans on “Thursday Night Football.” While Denver improved to 4-3, Alvin Kamara’s Saints dropped their fifth in a row to fall to 2-5 on the season.
After the game, Payton went to speak with several of the players he previously coached in New Orleans in Kamara, defensive end Cameron Jordan and former offensive lineman Jahri Evans, now a Saints offensive assistant.
Jeff Hage of FOX 8 NOLA shared a video on X/Twitter of Payton’s interactions with the three men. While speaking to Alvin Kamara, Payton appeared to have said, “I’ll call you” as they shared an embrace.

According to OvertheCap.com, the Saints can release Kamara after this season and save $25 million in cap space. Given their need to rebuild and the fact that Kamara will be 30 next year, it certainly feels like he’s on borrowed time in New Orleans.
New Orleans is well out of the playoff picture at 2-5, and several contenders should have interest in trading for Alvin Kamara. And perhaps no team is a better fit for him than the surprising Broncos, given Kamara’s familiarity with Payton.
Saints Should Trade Alvin Kamara
New Orleans GM Mickey Loomis made a giant mistake in not commencing a rebuild after Payton resigned in 2022. A tear-it-all-down rebuild is long overdue, and they can start by dealing pricey veterans like Kamara, Jordan, Tyrann Mathieu and Marshon Lattimore before the Nov. 5 deadline.
