Geno Smith cannot be blamed entirely for the struggles on offense, though. DK Metcalf couldn’t haul in a potential game-changing touchdown that forced Seattle to settle for a field goal, and Smith was under durress by the 49ers pass rush all game long.
The Seahawks have now lost three in a row following a perfect 3-0 start. A win would have put them two games up on the 49ers for tops in the NFC West, so they’ll be left kicking themselves for failing to take advantage of an opportunity.
Geno Smith & Seahawks Have A Tough Schedule Ahead
The struggling Seahawks now must prepare for a Week 7 road game against Kirk Cousins and the surging Atlanta Falcons’ offense. After that, they’ll play host to Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills before another home game against Sean McVay’s Los Angeles Rams, who have had Seattle’s number since his 2017 arrival.
