The Las Vegas Raiders are preparing for Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens this weekend, and Gardner Minshew has a tough task ahead of him.
The Las Vegas Raiders began their 2024 NFL season with a frustrating 24-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
They had the luxury of having more fans on the road inside SoFi Stadium to help cheer them on, but it still did not work. That will not be the case when they head on the road to M&T Bank Stadium to face a Ravens’ squad that is eager to get their first win of the year after opening the season with a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to at least one Raiders reporter, the team does not seem to have a chance to win that game.
Following a press conference, an unnamed Raiders beat reporter was caught on a hot mic bashing starting quarterback Gardner Minshew.
The reporter could be heard stating that Minshew was going to “get his ass kicked by Baltimore.”

That is not a good look for a reporter to be talking so negatively about the team they cover.
There is no word on whether that reporter has spoken up.
Gardner Minshew Hoping To Be The Answer For The Raiders After Signing With The Team Months Ago
The Las Vegas Raiders made a surprising signing by agreeing to terms with quarterback Gardner Minshew on a two-year contract back in March.
Minshew is getting up to $25 million over two years with $15 million in guaranteed money, which means the team expects him to be the answer at QB following the disaster of signing Jimmy G last year.
Raiders coach Antonio Pierce said this offseason that he doesn’t want to take the band-aid approach at the position, which is why he named Minshew the starter.
Now in his sixth NFL season, Minshew joined the Silver and Black after earning a 2023 Pro Bowl selection with the Colts.
He played in 17 games, tossed for 3,305 yards, 15 touchdowns, nine interceptions, and an 84.6 passer rating, per his stats on ESPN.
He also rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns on 34 attempts.
