NFL fans are teeing off on New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones after a clip emerged of the veteran signal-caller missing a wide-open wide receiver in practice.
Daniel Jones is entering a make-or-break season with the Giants. He signed a four-year extension worth $160 million last year following a career year, only to follow it up with another disappointing season that ended early with a torn ACL in a game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Giants didn’t bother to draft a QB with their first-round pick, but they signed veteran backup Drew Lock as insurance behind “Danny Dimes.” If Jones doesn’t play well this year, the Giants will surely move on and find their new QB via the draft, trade or free agency.
On Tuesday morning, the @TheGiantTakePod X/Twitter account posted a video of Daniel Jones missing open wide receiver Darius Slayton on what should have been an easy reception:

According to OvertheCap.com, the Giants would save a whopping $30.5 million against the salary cap next year if they release the 2019 first-round pick. So the Giants can move on from Jones easily if he doesn’t come through in a make-or-break year.
Daniel Jones Needs To Deliver
The Giants lost star running back Saquon Barkley to the archrival Philadelphia Eagles in free agency. The good news is that they at least landed a potential game-changing wide receiver for Daniel Jones in LSU product Malik Nabers, the No. 6 selection of this year’s draft.
Though losing Barkley hurts, the Giants found a cheap replacement in Devin Singletary, a capable 1,000-yard rusher who has surpassed 800 yards on the ground in each of the last three seasons.
The pieces are there for Daniel Jones to have a bounce-back year. He’s out of excuses and must finally deliver for Big Blue.
