Former NFL head coach Jon Gruden posted his debut TikTok video, and let’s say it goes along nicely with his “Chucky” nickname.
That is, Jon Gruden’s TikTok debut video looks like it came straight out of a Halloween horror film. The Super Bowl 37-wining head coach used a dark background and a menacing demeanor to provide NFL analysis in the form of a nightmare-inducing movie character.
It’s only fitting that Gruden posted this now since Halloween season is upon us. Check your local TV listings, and you’ll see channels playing classics like the “Halloween” franchise or “A Nightmare on Elm Street.”

According to NFL.com, Jon Gruden was nicknamed “Chucky” because of “his squinting, scowling, child-like countenance when enraged.” He was head coach of the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders for two stints (1998 to 2001 and 2018 to 2021) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2002 to 2008).
Gruden led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl 37 championship in his first year there, fittingly against his old team in the Raiders. He was fired by the Bucs after the 2008 season and worked as an NFL analyst on ESPN “Monday Night Football” from 2009 to 2017 before returning to the Raiders.

Gruden resigned following his well-documented email scandal, in which he wrote messages that included homophobic, misogynistic and racist emails.
