JJ Watt was one of the best NFL players in the league. Not only was he phenomenal on the field, especially during his time with the Texans, but he was also great off the field, winning a Walter Payton Man Of The Year Award.
Watt struggled with injuries during the later part of his career. The hulking defensive end signed a 2-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals, worth $28 million, in 2021 before retiring at 33 after the 2022 season.
The former star defender was a force to be reckoned with throughout his NFL career, leading many fans to believe he still had lots in the tank after his retirement. A recent viral video has fans theorizing once again.
The former Cardinal and Texan were filmed working out at the Los Angeles Chargers facility in full Chargers gear. This caused many fans to comment and speculate about a possible return to the league.
Could JJ Watt Be Signing With The Los Angeles Chargers?
One fan commented, “This is a very interesting idea, and it would greatly benefit the Chargers, either way the team decides to go. “Coaching position? Or end of the year pass rush addition,” suggested the interested fan.

Another fan commented on the fact that Texans fans may be feeling betrayed by the move of the long-time Houston pass rusher. “Texans fans mad,” they claimed, which wouldn’t be far from the truth if Watt were to return.
Another fan simply shot down the rumors, and it seems like they were the most realistic of the bunch due to most of Watt’s comments after the Hutchinson injury earlier in October. “He’s not coming out of retirement,” they said.
After all, the Chargers are 5-3, and getting Watt could go a long way toward tackling Mahomes and the Cheifs, who are currently 8-0 and an interdivisional opponent.
