Fans had all the jokes after watching a clip of new Los Angeles Chargers offensive tackle Joe Alt meeting head coach Jim Harbaugh for (presumably) the first time.
The former Notre Dame star was drafted by the Chargers as the fifth overall pick on Thursday night and will be tasked with protecting quarterback Justin Herbert in 2024.
The Chargers posted a video of Jim and Joe shaking hands on Friday, and fans had plenty of jokes, some noting how awkward the handshake was while others commented on the player’s clothing.

Joe Alt has followed in his father’s footsteps, getting drafted in the first round.
Joe’s dad, John Alt, was a Pro Bowl OT for the Kansas City Chiefs. He was drafted No. 21 overall in 1984. He spent his entire career with the AFC outfit.
“We’re a little competitive in our family,” John said after his son went No. 5 overall, per the Los Angeles Times. “So that will be one of the ‘gotchas,’ I’m sure.”
Joe Alt Is Ready To Hit People In The Pros
Joe, who’s listed at 6ft-9 and 321 pounds, joins the Chargers as a sign of Harbaugh’s intention to make the team more formidable at the line of scrimmage.
Asked what he likes best about playing in an offensive line, Alt gave a very honest answer.
“Being able to hit someone every single play,” he replied. “You don’t have a play off. You’re going to be throwing your head in there whether it’s a pass or a run.”
Sounds like something Harbaugh must have been thrilled to hear.
