A video of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers returning to practice on Wednesday has emerged.
In a drastic development, Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced on Wednesday that the 39-year-old Rodgers has received the green light to return to “functional football activity”, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
This comes just 79 days after Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles in the Jets’ season opener against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 11. The injury was expected to be season-ending for the future Hall of Famer, but Rodgers has voiced confidence that he’ll find a way to play again this season.
On Wednesday afternoon, video footage of Rodgers returning to the practice field was released on X (formerly Twitter).

The Jets acquired Rodgers in a blockbuster deal with the Green Bay Packers ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. For the first time in more than a decade, the Jets entered a season with relatively high expectations.
Unfortunately, the excitement of Rodgers’ arrival ended abruptly when he tore his Achilles just minutes into his Jets debut against the Buffalo Bills.
New York’s offense has been a mess without Rodgers, and the inability to score points has contributed to the Jets’ four-game losing streak. At 4-7 now, the Jets have to win out to have any realistic hope of making the postseason.
Will Rodgers manage to defy the odds and return this season? It remains to be seen, but Wednesday’s news is an encouraging start.
