Deebo Samuel’s frustration boiled over to the San Francisco 49ers’ sideline on Sunday when he almost fought with his teammates.
After Jake Moody missed his third field goal of the contest, Samuel got caught in the heat of the moment and went after both the kicker and snapper, Taybor Pepper.
One clip showed Samuel grabbing Pepper’s neck, tossing him aside, and swiping at Moody’s helmet in one motion.
When it was all said and done, San Francisco went on to win the game on a 44-yard field goal from Moody as time expired.
Deebo Samuel said after the game that he “got out of character a bit” but talked it out with Moody. “We’ll get past it,” he told reporters.
The full quote: “Normally I don’t even get like that, but just frustrated in the heat of battle,” Samuel said via NBC Sports Bay Area. “Really close game, and I kind of got out of character a little bit. I’ll talk to Moody, and we’ll get past it.”

When it was all said and done, Samuel was happy Moody got another chance to close the Week 10 matchup.
“I think he had a little dawg in him, a little motivation to go out there and make a field goal,” Samuel said.
49ers kicker Jake Moody attributed the incident with receiver Deebo Samuel as “an emotional game” while speaking in the locker room.
Moody did not agree that an apology was needed as he stated, “There doesn’t need to be. Like I said, heat of the moment, it happens. I do gotta make those kicks at the end of the day, so that’s all I’m focused on.”
