On NBC’s “Football Night In America,” it’s customary for the crew to highlight the games from earlier in the day and even talk about some players who did great. This week, one of those players was Tua Tagovailoa.
As analyst Chris Simms walked over to a screen that read “Hot Tua” and had a photo of the quarterback, he let out the line, “Hawk Tuah.”

Of course, the “Hawk Tuah” joke is still viral, even after months of it first becoming a thing, but many social media users could not believe that Simms said that on live TV about Tagovailoa.

It may not have been the best moment in SImms’ career, but you must credit him for trying to stay with the times, even though Tagovailoa probably wouldn’t enjoy the joke too much.
