Cameras caught New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemingly ignoring offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett during Monday night’s ugly road loss against the San Francisco 49ers.
Nearly one full year after suffering a torn Achilles in his Jets’ debut against the Buffalo Bills, Aaron Rodgers made his long-awaited return to the field against his old nemesis and childhood team.
But the Jets were no match for the defending NFC champions, who cruised to a 32-19 victory at Levi’s Stadium on prime time. Rodgers wound up completing just 13 passes for 167 yards, a touchdown and one interception in the loss.
After the Jets went up on a Breece Hall rushing touchdown, cameras caught Aaron Rodgers apparently ignoring Hackett while the latter was trying to go over plays on the tablet:
Hackett was hired as the Jets’ offensive coordinator in January 2023, before the team acquired Rodgers in a trade with the Green Bay Packers. Hackett, a month removed from being fired as head coach of the Denver Broncos, was Rodgers’ OC in Green Bay from 2019 to 2021.

The pass-blocking game (only one sack allowed on Aaron Rodgers) and wide receivers Allen Lazard (six catches for 89 yards and two touchdowns) and Garrett Wilson (six catches for 60 yards) were the lone bright spots for the Jets on offense.
The Jets visit the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, looking to avoid a disastrous 0-2 start.
A Humbling Loss For Aaron Rodgers’ Jets
It’s easy to overreact after one game, but the Jets were always going to be in tough against an elite 49ers team loaded with stars on both sides of the ball.
Rodgers is going to need time to gel with his teammates after missing all but a few plays last year, to say nothing of the rebuilt offensive line. This was far and away the toughest game on the Jets’ schedule, and there’s nowhere to go but up.
