Cam Newton recently went in-depth on a car crash he was involved in while in Charlotte, where his car flipped over several times. Newton was taken to the hospital after the former QB had suffered a fractured back in the collision.
Newton recently recalled the terrifying moment in a podcast with Shannon Sharpe called “Club Shay Shay.” The 34-year-old told Sharpe that he remembered saying, “Oh my god, not like this,” after the vehicle was clipped on the back left wheel after another car sped up in the same intersection.
Newton didn’t realize how close he was to being killed in the accident till after the fact, stating, “That could have been it. You don’t know the time, the hour, or the place.”
He also mentioned a lesson his father taught him that the crash reminded him of: ” One day you could be on top of the world, and the next day the world could be on top of you.“
