Cincinnati Bengals superstar quarterback Joe Burrow had a hysterical reaction to a question about the so-called “water bottle scandal.”
During Sunday’s season opener against the New England Patriots at home, fans noticed that Joe Burrow picked up his water bottle in a unique way on the sideline. This led to speculation that his right wrist, which required season-ending surgery last year, is still not 100 percent.
Burrow’s performance against the massive underdog Patriots was also underwhelming. He completed 21 of 29 pass attempts for 164 yards and no touchdowns against a team expected to contend for the first overall pick.
While Joke Burrow spoke to the media on Wednesday, a reporter asked if he was dealing with a wrist injury, citing how he picked up his water bottle. But the 2020 first-overall pick used humor to emphasize that there’s no issue with the wrist whatsoever.
“I picked it up weird? I don’t, I don’t know,” Burrow said. “I drank water. I can’t say I’ve seen that, or know what anybody’s talking about.”

Joe Burrow was off to a strong start last year, completing 66.8 percent of pass attempts for 2,309 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. He suffered the season-ending wrist injury in a Thursday night game against the Baltimore Ravens, all but ending the Bengals’ hope at a Super Bowl championship.
Backup Jake Browning played fine in Burrow’s absence, and the Bengals salvaged a 9-8 record despite playing in a division that featured three playoff teams with double-digit victories.

A Healthy Joe Burrow Makes The Bengals Contenders
The Bengals’ performance against the Patriots left a lot to be desired. But keep in mind that the Bengals are notoriously slow starters under Burrow, losing their first two contests in each of the last two years.
Cincinnati has played in two AFC Championships and a Super Bowl over Burrow’s two healthy seasons. As long as he’s at or near 100 percent, the Bengals will always have a shot at the Super Bowl.
