Well-known Barstool Sports podcaster Dan “Big Cat” Katz is a devout Chicago Bears fan.
He wears his on his sleeves, in his heart, and just about anywhere he can.
Many would assume that he was at least from the area, let alone born there, because that is usually how sports fandom begins.
That would not be the case with Big Cat.
On Friday, Katz decided to come clean for the many folks who had no clue that he was not from, nor was he born in Chicago.
Katz said in part: “I don’t know why I’ve been ashamed of this for a long time…I think a lot of people know, originally from Newton, Mass, I was born there.”
“I shouldn’t be ashamed of something like this. But I have been, and it’s stupid, and I need to say it all so it gets to a point where it doesn’t bother me anymore.”

Big Cat then would go on to explain what started his Chicago fandom.
“Born there (Massachusetts), lived there until I was 18, moved when I was 18 in 2003, went to school in Wisconsin…Moved to Chicago after college in 2007…I do have some family from here that I would visit once a year, loved the city of Chicago…rooted for Boston teams, and Chicago was kind of my second teams, so Michael Jordan was my favorite player growing up.”
“I’ve been a Bears fan, like I’ve said they were always my second team, so I’m not going to say they were my first team growing up, but they’ve been my only team for whatever, 13-14 years.”
Fans couldn’t believe what they were hearing and responded:
“my dad grew up in NYC as was a diehard yanks, giants, and knicks fan. He moved to Houston in 98 and then I popped out of my mom. He roots for all Houston teams now and has basically since I was born. It’s less where ur from and more where home is. No shame in that,” one fan said.

“So big cat celebrated 3 super bowls and then pretended to be a tortured and heartbroken Chicago fan?” another fan asked?

“This is worse than I thought… a man who switches teams at any point in his life can’t be trusted,” one disgruntled fan added.

“I’m sorry but If you have a “2nd team” do you really have a “1st team?” The thought of rooting for any other team like I root for the skins actually doesn’t resonate in my brain,” one final fan said.

Barstool Big Cat Reveals Plan To Find College Team A New QB With NIL Deal
Chicago Bear and new Wisconsin superfan Dan’ Big Cat’ Katz announced a few months ago that he would help the program find a quarterback.
Cat revealed on the Week 6 Barstool Pick Em show that he is committed to helping Wisconsin land a top-tier quarterback and get them an NIL deal in Wisconsin by getting people to buy his coffee.
“I want it on the record. I’m a man of action. Wisconsin’s quarterback will probably cost considerably less than Michigan’s, but I think I have a plan, and essentially, I think I’m gonna be able to do what you laid out,” Katz said.
“It’s going to be, though, contingent on, basically, anyone who lives in the state of Wisconsin, who went to Wisconsin, who cares about the Badgers, who knows someone who has a business, is gonna have to buy Stella Blue Coffee when I say the word, ‘go.’
“If enough people buy Stella Blue Coffee, when I say the word ‘go,’ we’re gonna buy a quarterback, and he’s gonna be the spokesperson for Stella Blue Coffee, and we’re gonna be able to afford it.
The coffee is Katz’s personal brand, which he named after his dog.
Basically, the amount he would spend to get Wisconsin a QB depends on how much money he can generate through coffee sales within Wisconsin’s borders.
