Baker Mayfield had an embarrassing accident in the Buccaneers’ parking lot earlier in the offseason that cost him some money.
The quarterback revived his career in Tampa Bay in 2023 despite coming in with huge boots to fill after Tom Brady retired. While he’s no Brady, Mayfield has proven to be an able QB who took the Bucs to the playoffs and knocked off former NFC champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, in the first round.
As it turns out, his driving isn’t as good as his ability to throw a football.
Mayfield recently revealed having clipped teammate Antoine Winfield’s car while trying to exit the team’s facility last month.
“Here’s a story. Apparently, I don’t know how to pull out of the parking lot, because in June I clipped his car. I just had to pay him back for it,” the QB told NFL Network. “But he’s an unbelievable guy. He was like, ‘Bro, no problem’ with a smile on his face.”

Baker Mayfield Could Easily Afford To Pay To Get Work Done On A Car
Baker Mayfield is fortunate in that his poor driving didn’t spark any trouble. As for having to pay for the damage to Antoine Winfield’s car, he was signed to a three-year deal worth $100 million this offseason, so it likely didn’t bother him.
The former No. 1 overall pick finished last season with 4,044 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, completing 64.3 percent of his throws.
He will be playing under a new offensive coordinator next season, so it will be interesting to see how he does.
