Coming out of college, Baker Mayfield had a few question marks surrounding his character and personality after being seen as “cocky” for some of his actions at Oklahoma.
However, he’s 29 years old and in his seventh NFL season. He has faced major adversity, which, along with maturing, has possibly helped shape him for the better.
His growth has become obvious and can be proven after it was revealed that he paid $17,900 of his own money to help a high school football team in Texas that needed equipment.
The story already sounds amazing, and it only gets better when you learn that last year, Space Coast High went 1-8, and just a year later, with the help of Mayfield, they went 10-3 and won their first state championship.
The amazing act of kindness has gone viral, and Mayfield has influenced many NFL fans, even if they aren’t Buccaneers fans.

The team Mayfield supported is located in Cocoa, Florida, which isn’t too far from Tampa Bay, so it’s great to see him helping the community around him.
Baker Mayfield Should Be In The MVP Conversation
Undoubtedly, the Buccaneers made a great move by signing Mayfield to his three-year $100 million contract.
There’s a serious argument that, given his performance, he should be considered an MVP finalist.
Mayfield has the ninth most passing yards (2,505), third-most passing touchdowns (24), fifth-best passer rating (103.6), and third-best completion percentage (70.6).
The front-runner probably isn’t where he would land, but the top five should be within sight with how well he’s performing in so many important categories.
If not, it will be a travesty after watching how he’s turned his career around after being doubted by so many teams.
