Adam Schefter engaged in a heated debate with a colleague during ‘NFL Live’ this Wednesday.
The NFL insider sort of got into it with former pro quarterback Dan Orlovsky over Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, who wants out but is currently set to play for the team under the franchise tag.
Schefter is of the view that the wideout could make a “business decision” and find a way to sit out the rest of the season ahead of free agency.
“What happens in the middle of the season if and when his knee is creaky, his hamstring is tight, his shoulder is sore,” he argued. “Is he playing through those injuries weeks before he becomes a free agent or is he going to be making a business decision?”
Orlovsky wasn’t going away that easily and shot back with a question of his own.
“You think a team is going to randomly pay you if he’s not healthy?”
An incredulous Adam Schefter replied: “Absolutely! He’s getting paid!”

The ESPN analyst attempted to justify his response, but Schefter brought Jairus Byrd up as an example.
“I’ll go back to Jairus Byrd, a safety in Buffalo,” he began.
“He had all kind of injury issues, becomes a free agent, and New Orleans makes him the highest-paid safety in football,” he continued. “Somebody, no matter what season Tee Higgins has, is going to pay him.”
Marcus Spears sided with Orlovsky on the matter, though.

Will Tee Higgins Make A “Business Decision,” As Adam Schefter Has Suggested?
Tee Higgins is set to make $21.8 million from being franchise-tagged in Cincy, but the parties have until July 15 to agree on a long-term extension.
As things stand, it appears next season could be the last Higgins plays for the Bengals. A “business decision” is certainly within the realm of possibility. Whether he makes one or not remains to be seen.
