Erica Donald, the wife of former Los Angeles Rams superstar defensive tackle Aaron Donald, doesn’t want fans getting their hopes up for nothing.
Aaron Donald announced his retirement from football in March following a Hall of Fame 10-year career. The three-time Defensive Player was still at the top of his game and two months away from his 33rd birthday when he hung up the cleats.
Because of those two factors, some fans can’t help but wonder if Donald would follow the footsteps of other NFL greats like Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Randy Moss, Brett Favre and Deion Sanders by coming out of retirement for a run at another championship.
But before the Rams kicked off their 2024 season against the Detroit Lions on Sunday night, Mrs. Donald shared a video of her husband sleeping. Speaking to the people who are wondering about Donald potentially unretiring, Erica shifted the camera on Aaron napping before saying, “Alright guys, hope that answers your question ’cause he is not.”
And there you have it, folks. The proud husband and father is relaxed in retirement, with no imminent plans to potentially return.

Let’s just say that the Rams could have really used Aaron Donald in Sunday night’s 26-20 overtime loss to the Lions. Detroit racked up 163 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries, and LA struggled to pressure Jared Goff consistently.
The Lions won the overtime coin toss and started with the ball. Detroit ran the ball seven times on their eight-play drive, culminating with a David Montgomery touchdown that ended the game.
Rams Can’t Replace What Aaron Donald Did
Unfortunately for the Rams, there’s simply no replacing the talents of an all-time great like Aaron Donald. The Super Bowl 56 champion was in his own class during a phenomenal 10-year career, and he unquestionably belongs on the Mt. Rushmore of defensive players.
The Rams were reminded again last night that there isn’t another Aaron Donald out there. Clearly, there’s a lot of work ahead for this young defense after Sunday’s lackluster performance.
