With NFL training camp in full swing, and with preseason play just around the corner, it’s an opportune time for analysts and experts to lock in their early 2023 season predictions.
Nate Davis of USA Today has revealed his early record projections for all 32 NFL teams in 2023, as well as his Super Bowl 58 matchup and winner.
He’s got the Buffalo Bills finishing with football’s best record at 13-4, and six of last season’s AFC playoff participants returning to the 14-team dance. The only difference? He has Aaron Rodgers’ New York Jets squeaking in over the Los Angeles Chargers.
This year, he has the Detroit Lions winning the NFC North over the reigning champion Minnesota Vikings, and the New Orleans Saints dethroning the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the NFC South. Davis has the Atlanta Falcons earning a wild card berth, with the New York Giants missing out on the postseason this time around.
In the final four, he has the Philadelphia Eagles defeating the Lions to win the NFC for a second straight year, and the Jets taking down the Cincinnati Bengals to win the AFC Championship. Davis projects the Eagles to beat the Jets in the big game.

As is the case with any NFL expert and predictions-related articles, Davis’ picks led to a wide range of reactions. Among his playoff teams, the Falcons are by far the boldest selection. Otherwise, it’s hard to fully dispute his other playoff team picks.
