We are just four weeks into the tenure of Urban Meyer in the regular season and he is likely to lose his job for several reasons. On Tuesday, we found out from former NFL executive Michael Lombardi that Jacksonville is having “closed-door meetings” with Meyer that could get ugly in the near future.
“According to two Jacksonville sources, there are many closed-door meetings happening over the last two days in the football offices and none of them have anything to do with the Titans,” Lombardi tweeted. “Stay tuned. This might get ugly.”
NFL Insider Michael Silver decided to add on to Urban situation by quoting a player on the team saying, ‘He has zero credibility in that stadium. He had very little to begin with.’
He wasn’t done.
“2) Players were particularly put off by the fact that Meyer canceled Monday’s team meeting, as he dealt with the uproar over the videos of him and a young woman getting cozy in that Ohio bar. ‘He even canceled the team meeting. He was too scared,’ a player said.”

“3) Instead Meyer ‘only apologized to position groups individually.’ He portrayed the woman in the videos as a random person who was ‘just there dancing.’ Suffice it to say, his audience was highly skeptical.”
4) Said one player: ‘We looked at him like, WTF? Right when he left everyone started dying laughing. And he knew it.’
“5 Bottom line, said the player: ‘It’s bad. I don’t know how he’s gonna function.'”
As you know, Urban Meyer has been trending on social media since a bar video shwed him getting way to close to a woman that was not his wife. Alternate angles also have shown him with his hands between her legs.
Meyer, after a loss he described as “devastating, heartbreaking,” did not return with his team to Jacksonville, and instead, stayed in Ohio to visit his grandchildren. We now know from his wife Twitter activity that she was the one watching the kids while he was out having a good time with other women.
Meyer’s judgment and lack of self-awareness continues to be an issue with him that has followed him from the college ranks.
As of right now, it does not appear he will be fired after owner Shad Khan released a statement:
During his weekly press conference on Monday, Meyer called his actions “stupid.” He explained that he had spoken to the whole team, as well as “a bunch of” team leaders one on one. Meyer added that he spoke with Jaguars owner Shad Khan, who was “very supportive” of the situation. He also spoke with general manager, Trent Baalke.
0-4 Jacksonville will play host to Tennessee on Sunday and their play on the field could go a long way into what happens with him in the future.
