There’s a rumor going around that the Philadelphia Eagles are close to acquiring Tennessee Titans’ star running back Derrick Henry. Apparently, this is not the case.
Former NFL player and “American Ninja Warrior” co-host Akbar Gbajabiamila reported in the early hours of Saturday morning that the two-time rushing champion is joining the 2022 NFC Champions.
But when asked by a fan on Twitter if the Henry-to-Philadelphia rumor is “real”, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported that the rumor isn’t true, “at least not at this point.”
In 16 games last season, the 29-year-old Henry rushed for 1,538 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Henry is entering the final season of his contract for the Titans, who are coming off their first losing season since 2015. But new GM Ran Carthon and head coach Mike Vrabel haven’t given any signs that they’re keen on trading the 2020 Offensive Player of the Year, so it looks like the Titans will have to be blown away by an offer to consider a move.
