At least one person was killed and multiple people, including young children and teens, were wounded in a shooting near Union Station at the conclusion of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade Wednesday.
All of the children were sent to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Children’s Mercy Hospital confirmed it had received 12 patients from the rally: 11 children, nine with gunshot wounds.
Stephanie Meyer, the hospital’s senior vice president of nursing, said all of the children were expected to make full recoveries. None of the patients were in critical condition.
On Friday, good news was released as all but one patient had been discharged from the hospital.

Twenty-two people were injured in the shooting and a 43-year-old woman was killed. The woman has been identified as Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a popular local radio DJ who was attending the celebration with her son, a fan of the Chiefs.
The deadly gunfire appeared to stem from a dispute between several people, Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves said Thursday. The investigation so far hasn’t found any connections to terrorism or homegrown violent extremism, the chief said.
Three people were taken into custody shortly after the shooting. One has since been released. The others are juveniles.
More than 800 law enforcement officers were on duty Wednesday and that likely added to things not being worse than what they were.
