Arizona Cardinals cornerback Jeff Gladney died in a car accident in Texas over the holiday weekend. The 25-year-old’s agent, Brian Overstreet, told the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram that Gladney was killed in a car accident in Dallas the early hours of Monday morning.
We are now getting more information into that accident and it shows that Gladney was speeding at the time of the deadly wreck, according to TMZ.
“Police are not identifying the victims by name, but the white car — which is believed to be Gladney’s — was allegedly speeding when it clipped a second vehicle from behind at the time of the crash, according to preliminary info.
It’s unclear how fast Gladney’s vehicle was moving at the time of impact.
The white vehicle struck a pier beam on the freeway and flipped into a grassy area. The other vehicle had two occupants who were not injured.”
Gladney had just signed with the Arizona NFL team in March.
“We are devastated to learn of Jeff Gladney’s passing. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and all who are mourning this tremendous loss,” the team stated.
