The New York Jets officially have their backup plan should Aaron Rodgers go down with another injury during his second season in the Big Apple.
Late Monday night, it was announced by the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that journeyman quarterback Tyrod Taylor was signing with the New York Jets. The deal is reportedly over two years and can be worth up to $18-million.
The Jets have been in the market for a backup quarterback, as they get set to move on from former second-overall pick Zach Wilson. The team has already given him permission to seek a trade.

The Jets will be Taylor’s seventh NFL team. After being drafted by the Ravens in the sixth round of the 2011 draft, he also spent time with the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans and New York Giants.
Unfortunately, his career has been marred by injuries, including one last season with the Giants which required him to be taken to the hospital.
