A linebacker for the Buffalo Bills could be in hot water with the team after getting on the wrong side of Josh Allen.
The Bills ensured to make acquisitions to add protection for the quarterback ahead of next season, but one of them could have put him in harm’s way by swinging a helmet during a fight in practice.
According to Thad Brown, the WROC-TV sports director, Tyrel Dodson was involved in a skirmish on Monday and got Allen heated after using his shell as a weapon.
“Tyrel Dodson at center of nasty fight to start practice today,” Brown tweeted. “He and Morse nose to nose after play. Things seemed to calm. Then ramped up with a helmet swinging. Josh Allen rightly furious at that player. Dodson came out of the drill hot. Got earful from LB coach Bobby Babich.”
The Bills are well aware of Dodson’s past, which includes a six-game suspension for domestic violence and disorderly conduct during his rookie season.
No one was injured during the fight and it’s reported that Allen and Dodson never actually got physical with each other, with the QB only screaming at his teammate to stop.

“It was a very intense Bills practice,” WGR 550 reporter Sal Capaccio noted. “There was a big melee and at one point someone had a helmet and was swinging it over top of the pile. Josh Allen and Tyrel Dodson (who got into it with Spencer Brown at the start) had a VERY heated exchange when everyone separated.”
Allen has since downplayed the incident while head coach Sean McDermott didn’t address it. There’s been nothing on whether Dodson or any other players could face discipline.
