Tyreek Hill is a good man.
During a Week 6 game between the Dolphins and Carolina Panthers, Hill scored a touchdown and used Kevin Fitzgibbons’ camera as a prop in his celebration as he nailed a standing backflip. The clip was a massive hit online, but Fitzgibbons was suspended for at least the rest of the season.
The Miami Dolphins star receiver announced this week he will be paying out of his own pocket to help an NFL cameraman who was disciplined as a result of his recent viral touchdown celebration.
“I told him I was gonna cover his salary, whatever the NFL was gonna pay him. I told him I was going to make sure that I do what’s right and take care of (Fitzgibbons),” Hill said, per USA Today’s Jordan Mendoza. “Make sure you’re not out of a job.”
This news comes after Fitzgibbons made a video explaining his side of the story. He said he was thankful for his time working with the NFL, but he was frustrated by such a stiff punishment, especially since the league showed the clip on its social media platforms.
The 20-year-old University of Miami student who says he has been working Dolphins games since last year, released a video on Monday explaining that the NFL revoked his credential for the remainder of the season and “possibly for good” because he “had to be disciplined.”

“They said regardless if I knew the celebration was coming or not, I still had to be disciplined and that I shouldn’t have jumped on the sidelines after the play,” Fitzgibbons said. “One of the best moments of my life turned upside down in a matter of seconds. I get why the NFL had to make this decision and wish I could’ve done something to prevent it, but I’m thankful for the memory Tyreek gave me.”
Hill told reporters on Thursday that he attempted to get the NFL to reverse its decision, but the league refused.
Hill and the Dolphins improved to 8-3 by defeating the New York Jets in the NFL’s first-ever Black Friday game last week.
They are now looking to improve their record when they take on the Washington Commanders (4-8) on Sunday.
