I think it’s pretty fair to say that the whole Patrick Mahomes-Tua Tagovailoa comparison that was made by Tyreek Hill a few weeks ago has gotten way more attention than it ever really should have. In fact, it has now gotten to the point where it is officially out of hand.
You might remember the comments—the ones in which Hill claimed that Tua is more accurate than Mahomes, while giving Patty props for having the stronger arm of the two.
Yes, such a statement would be surprising to hear from most people, but not from Hill. After all, what did you think the Miami Dolphins wideout was going to say?
He just joined his new team and is looking to build a strong rapport with his new quarterback. Did you really think he was going to come right out and say, “Patrick Mahomes is way better than Tua Tagovailoa in every aspect of the quarterback position”?
Of course not!
Hill had to find a way to stick up for his current QB, while also trying to give some props to his previous partner. So he gave Tua the accuracy, and Patty the arm strength, in an effort to make everyone happy.

Unfortunately, not everyone was left happy by his remarks. Chiefs fans in particular seemed to be pretty peeved, so some of them resorted to death threats.
That’s what Tyreek Hill was claiming on the second episode of his podcast, “It Needed To Be Said.”
“Every social media account that I own, I got death threats on, which is ridiculous,” Hill stated.
Hill also felt he had to address his comments, elaborating on his thoughts regarding his former and current QB:
“We all know Patrick Mahomes is great. We know that. But, right now, I’m going into a new season with a new quarterback who’s trying to head in the same direction as Patrick and do great things and lead this team to a Super Bowl championship — who is also great, in my opinion. He just doesn’t have the accolades, of yet. I believe in him.”
This all makes perfect sense from Tyreek’s perspective, but it still wouldn’t surprise me if it triggered some lowlifes into sending even more death threats his way.
