Tyreek Hill is going viral this week for how he prepares for NFL games.
The Dolphins’ star receiver told reporters on Thursday that he will look at a player’s “Madden NFL” rating and skills breakdown the night leading up to their matchup.
“I go to the EA rosters then I scroll down and see what their awareness is, their speed, and their strength, and that’s how I get a good tell on them,” Hill said.
“I feel like Madden has a good tell of how good players are,” Hill said regarding the iconic video game. “I just play Madden the night before and I go look at all their ratings. Let’s say, for instance, they have Steven Nelson and Derek Stingley Jr. [of the Texans] over there. Two phenomenal players by the way. I just get on Madden, I go to the EA rosters and then I scroll down to see what their awareness is, their speed is and their strength and that’s how I get a good tell on them.”

If Hill is not joking, then what he is doing to prepare for games is certainly working because he consistently gets the best of the defensive backs who line up across from him. He has been in the league for seven years and already has a resume with seven Pro Bowl nods, four First-Team All-Pro selections, and a Super Bowl ring.
When Hill got traded last year from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins, many folks thought his stats would fall off a cliff as he was going from Patrick Mahomes to Tua Tagovailoa.
He is coming off a career-best season in 2022 in his first year with the Dolphins. The 29-year-old continued to torch defensive backs to the tune of 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns on 119 receptions.
Basically, don’t expect him to change his approach in 2023.
