Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill had the perfect response after learning that the police officer who arrested him was placed on administrative leave.
Before Sunday afternoon’s season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, cameras caught Miami-Dade police officers arresting Tyreek Hill. One of the officers acted unnecessarily aggressively while Hill was being handcuffed:
Shortly after 4:14 p.m. EST, Miami-Dade Police Department Director Stephanie V. Daniels announced that one of the officers who arrested the Miami superstar was placed on administrative leave after conducting “an Internal Affairs investigation.”
Speaking to reporters after the game, Tyreek Hill had the perfect response upon learning that one of the arresting officers was placed on administrative leave, per ESPN’s Jeff Darlington.
“That should tell you all you need to know,” Hill said.
Hill’s teammate, Calais Campbell, was also briefly detained during the incident. Campbell said he was simply trying to de-escalate the situation, but the veteran defensive lineman was also handcuffed.

Hill was cited for reckless driving and faces no charges. He got to the game in plenty of time and played a significant role in the Dolphins’ thrilling comeback win over Jacksonville.
The 30-year-old caught seven passes for 130 yards and a touchdown, highlighted by a game-changing 80-yard TD in the third quarter that sparked Miami’s comeback. Jason Sanders booted two field goals in the fourth quarter, including a 52-yarder on the final play, to lift Miami to a 20-17 win.
Tyreek Hill Is Coming Off A Career Year
The eight-time Pro Bowler is coming off the best season of his career that saw him catch 119 receptions for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns (the latter two marks led the NFL). This came a year after he posted a stat line of 119 catches for 1,710 yards and seven receiving scores, proving that he was not a product of the Patrick Mahomes system in Kansas City.
Miami will try to improve to 2-0 on the year when they host the Buffalo Bills on Thursday evening.
