Over the offseason, the dynamic wideout was shockingly traded to the Dolphins from the Kansas City Chiefs in a move that nobody saw coming. It turns out it was over a new contract that the Chiefs weren’t willing to pay, but the Dolphins had no problem shelling out.
Hill signed a four-year, $120 million extension – including $72.2m guaranteed – with the Miami Dolphins, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history.
While speaking to Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast, Hill admitted despite what his bank account looks like, he still drives a minivan around.
“When they cut the check and you get this big, this big signing bonus and you look, you don’t know, maybe they did. I’m saying they gave you a check, obviously the direct deposit. Uh-huh. What was the first thing Tyree wouldn’t got?
Well, I I’m, I’m not. I’m not too much of a crazy spender. But we we bought a we bought a nice size estate down in in Miami. Spending a pretty penny on that. And that was about it, man.
That’s it. I’m, I’m. I’m a simple guy. I drive a minivan to work every day. So.
A minivan?
Yeah, seriously. I drive a minivan to work every.
Don’t tell me it’s a sprinter.
Now it’s a minivan. It’s a Dodge Caravan.
Many assumed the six-time Pro-Bowl WR would have a down year due to him going from Patrick Mahomes to Tua Tagovailoa. Over the offseason, Hill talked Tua up on how he would silence the haters and it turns out he was right.
