Tyrann Mathieu just might be on a new squad in 2022.
The 29-year-old has made two Pro Bowls and two All-Pro teams during his three seasons in Kansas City. However, the Honey Badger made a cryptic Twitter post Saturday seemingly directed at the Chiefs.
“Replacing me is easy,” Mathieu wrote. “Getting them to do the same thing I did is damn near impossible.”
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Mathieu is ready to explore the free-agency market.
“My understanding is he’s going to test the market,” Rapoport said Sunday on NFL Network. “I think there is a chance he’s back in Kansas City, but they have so many priorities.”
According to Rapoport, Mathieu could end up securing “double digits” in terms of salary.
