Tyrann Mathieu will be a man who will try to intercept passes from Joe Burrow in the coming years after he was selected No. 1 overall by the Bengals, but until then, he is on the same side as the rookie QB when it comes to one critic.
Hall of Fame GM Bill Polian criticized Burrow this week ahead of his rookie season, offering a dim outlook on Burrow’s rookie season.
Polian was also previously not to high on Tyrann Mathieu, so when audio came out on him being negative about Burrow’s upcoming rookie year — Mathieu pounced on him.
“Same guy who said he wouldn’t draft me cause I wasn’t a leader? Imma 3x Team Captain,” Mathieu said of Polian. “Said I don’t deserve The opportunity to provide for my family ? I’m one of the highest paid players at my position. LETS GEAUX JOE.”
If it’s any consolation, Polian has been wrong about so many players that Burrow should actually be happy he sees him doing bad in year one of his career. Who knows, he just might lead the Bengals to the postseason now.
