The NFL’s recent crackdown on taunting penalties has led to the return of “No Fun League” trending on social media by all fan bases.
New York Giants’ owner John Mara, who is on the NFL’s competition committee, recently addressed the focus on taunting:
“That’s something we discuss every year in the Competition Committee. We get kind of sick and tired of the talking that does go on from time to time on the field. We tried to balance the sportsmanship with allowing the players to have fun and there’s always a fine line there, but none of us like to see that. It’s just a question of whether you can have rules that can be enforced and without taking the fun out of the game too, but nobody wants to see a player taunting another player. I know, I certainly don’t. I think the rest of the members of the Competition Committee feel the same way, too.”
As you can suspect, it wasn’t well received as Alvin Kamara and Tyrann Mathieu took to Twitter and blasted him:

Mara said that they are “sick and tired of the talking,” hence the reason for the NFL putting into place the new policy. Just watching the Week 1 preseason games showed fans what they will be calling this year.
Basically, it is going to be a long year and a taunting penalty will likely cost a number of teams a game or two.
