A Pair of Kansas City Chiefs offensive linemen were arrested in Johnson County, Kansas, on Thursday night.
Wanya Morris and Chukwuebuka Godrick, both 23, were taken into police custody for marijuana possession, which is a misdemeanor in Kansas.
Booking records show that the OLs were detained at the Johnson County Detention Center and released on Friday afternoon after posting a $2,500 bond.
Morris was drafted by the Chiefs in the third round last year. He made four starts as a rookie in place of an injured Donovan Smith, allowing two sacks and 27 pressures. He is tipped to lock down a starting role in the team’s offense next season.
Godrick, who hails from Lagos, Nigeria, joined the Chiefs as a designated International Pathway Player in 2023. A former basketball player, he hadn’t played an organized American Football game before the most recent preseason and had nearly given up on sports altogether.

It began with a mass shooting incident at their parade after their second straight championship in which one person was killed and dozens of others were wounded.
Rashee Rice has also been in the news recently for various legal reasons. Following a hit-and-run incident in Dallas a few weeks ago, the wide receiver could be suspended for a significant number of games in 2024.
Additionally, kicker Harrison Butker has had the country come down on him after delivering a speech at a commencement ceremony in Kansas a few days ago, with fans trying to get him cut.
