Could the Arizona Cardinals really trade quarterback Kyler Murray before the 2022 NFL draft?
Probably not, but at least two former players think he won’t be sticking around for very long.
During the latest episode of CBS Sports’ “All Things Covered” podcast, former Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds was asked about Murray’s impending future with the franchise.
Edmonds thinks Murray will be playing football for another team at some point in his career.
“Man, the way things are, and how people just move and get traded, I don’t think so,” said Edmonds when asked if he sees Murray sticking in Arizona for the long haul. “It’s a new way, bro. It’s a new era in the NFL. … People (are) gonna say a lot of things about K1, but he wants to win more than anything.”
Former Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson echoed those same sentiments because he believes the Cardinals have legit “culture” problems.
“I’ve been around K1,” Peterson said, via CBS Sports. “He’s a competitor … And I feel like, no disrespect to the Arizona Cardinals, I feel like they don’t put the team in a position to be successful year after year after year. They want to sit and wait on draft picks instead of being aggressive in free agency. … And Kyler Murray’s not gonna sit around and wait for that.”

Speculation surrounding Murray and the Cardinals has run rampant all offseason and it began to swirl again last week when NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reported that the quarterback’s agent removed his opening contract proposal with the Arizona Cardinals.
Teams have been monitoring the situation between Murray and the Cardinals, who have been embroiled in a contract saga this offseason since the quarterback scraped his social media of Arizona Cardinals photos.
