It’s becoming harder and harder to trust the NFL these days. From their constant refusal to acknowledge the long term damage that the game has done to the health of their players, to their inability to properly investigate the Washington Football Team for inappropriate workplace conditions (only to have it all reemerge during this Jon Gruden email scandal), can you blame the public for showing so much skepticism towards the league at this point?
Take these Gruden emails, for example. The NFL has known about them for quite some time, yet they only came to light over the past week when the New York Times leaked them, leading to Gruden’s resignation:
So when the NFL came out and announced that no other league personnel made any sort of discriminatory comments in the thousands of emails they retrieved in their investigation, I’ll let you guess how the people took it…
If you guessed “not well,” you lose…because that is a huge understatement.
Twitter absolutely torched the league, making it clear that they don’t believe a word of what Goodell’s people are telling them.
