It didn’t take very long for controversy to kick off before the first game of the season.
On Thursday, Chiefs fans in attendance were treated to the players message about a “moment of unity” held between the teams.
Players from both teams locked arms for a “moment of unity” where they held a moment of silence in the name of equality. Seven messages about social justice, chosen by the players, were displayed on the scoreboard.
Some Chiefs fans could be heard booing for the display.
The booing was so bad that the Chiefs official Twitter account could only post 5 seconds of it where audible cheering could be heard, and even then, it appeared to be added in to make it sound good.

That is just incredibly sad, and social media noticed as well.
