Sean and Leigh Ann Tuohy claim to have paid Michael Oher a significant sum out of their proceeds from ‘The Blind Side’.
ESPN’s Michael A. Fletcher is reporting that a sworn document filed in a Tennessee Court states the Tuohy family paid the former Ole Miss star $138,311.01 in 10 installments between 2007 and 2023.
A statement from family lawyers asserts that the figure was a direct payment for Oher’s involvement in the movie and the book detailing his journey to the NFL.
“By agreement between the family members including Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, their children SJ and Collins as well as Michael Oher, the book and movie proceeds were to be split five ways,” the statement reads.
The Oher-Tuohy story dominated the headlines for several weeks after it was revealed back in August that the former offensive lineman filed a petition claiming the family lied about adopting him and tricked him into signing a conservatorship so they could make business deals in his name.
He also claimed he didn’t get a single penny from the movie while each of their children got $225,000 each, as well as 2.5 percent of the film’s proceeds.

A court has since ended the conservatorship while the family has branded the accusations “upsetting,” denying they ever tried to trick Michael. Documents filed in court show they have received over $432,000 from the film since 2007.
Oher’s lawyers have until November 28 to file objections to the documents.
