Tua Tagovailoa experienced disappointment for the first time in his career last Sunday when the team benched him for Ryan Fitzpatrick due to his bad play on the field. He’ll be looking to redeem himself this Sunday, as head coach Brian Flores stated he would be back in the starting lineup.
That redeem hit a snag on Wednesday after he was listed on the Dolphins injury report with a thumb injury. According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the rookie quarterback jammed his left thumb on a helmet during practice.
The early indications are that Tagovailoa’s injury is nothing serious. If there was ever a team for Tua to be facing right now, it is the lowly New York Jets.
Miami owns a 3-1 record with Tagovailoa as the starting quarterback, with the No. 5 overall pick throwing for 602 passing yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions.
