Tua Tagovailoa is currently the starter for the Miami Dolphins and has been since 2020. In that time, he started nine games and threw for 1,800 yards and 11 touchdowns, compared to just five interceptions.
Many fans have criticized the young quarterback for being unable to stay on the field, and it eventually reached the point where, before last season, fans thought that it might be time for the Dolphins to consider drafting their next franchise signal caller.
It seems that the 26-year-old may have taken the criticism to heart. There are rumors that he has been working on becoming more mobile this season, including dropping some unneeded weight.
In a post by MLFootball on X, NFL Network reported that the Prow Bowl quarterback has been “working on losing weight this offseason,” and he has apparently dropped 10 pounds so far.

This comes just one season removed from when the young quarterback was knocked out of the season brutally in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals in which he could be seen laying on the turf throwing hand signs after suffering a severe concussion.

Last season, Tagovailoa had the most statistically impressive season of his NFL career. He threw for over 4,600 yards and a career-high 29 touchdowns and started all 17 games, which he had yet to do.
After the reported off-season changes Tua has made, could it be possible that he has the best statistical season of his career to date? With the recent signing of Odell Beckham Jr. in the fold, there’s no telling what this Dolphins team may be capable of in 2024.
