Do the Miami Dolphins still view quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as their future?
Despite his multiple concussion issues, he has remained with the team and is still looking for a new contract.
While the Dolphins are interested in keeping him, they still need to find some common ground in their negotiations.
Diane Tagovailoa, Tua Tagovailoa’s mother, added fuel to the fire by posting a cryptic tweet that left Dolphins fans uncertain about its meaning.
ESPN’s Jeff Darlington recently suggested that Tua Tagovailoa won’t settle for a lesser offer in negotiations, adding that the Dolphins have no interest in overpaying.
“Going back about a month ago, the negotiations really hadn’t gotten to a point where it was even close,” Darlington said on the Pat McAfee Show. “Tua didn’t perceive the options on the table to be market value… Since then, I’ve been told things are amicable. They have been inching closer.
“That being said, he’s reported [to camp]… but I could see him playing this thing out.”

Diane Tagovailoa randomly took to her X account and posted laughing emojis.
She then followed that up with a cryptic message in Samoan.
It translates to “Everyone is important. No one is political. But having a relationship with people and loving your neighbor is the best thing. It’s still going to be!”

Dolphins Coach Mike McDaniel Updates Contract Talks With Tua Tagovailoa
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel told reporters that Tua Tagovailoa’s plan for training camp is “very fluid” amid ongoing contract talks.
He then suggested that Tua Tagovailoa wouldn’t participate in 11 on 11 drills on the first day of camp.
He actually did, but only to take two snaps, which were handoffs.
Tua is due to make $23.1 million on a fifth-year option this season, but could make even more should both sides come to a deal.
“Both sides are relentlessly working on it,” McDaniel said of the negotiations per The Miami Herlad. “Those things take time.”
“I’m not involved in those things,” McDaniel said. “I know where my place is in my relationship with him. My job is to focus on him getting better solely. I’m comfortable in my relationship with Tua. He can separate the business relationship. He knows our focus has to be on what it looks like when he’s playing football.”
