A lot was said about Tua Tagovailoa this offseason, especially after the team traded for Tyreek Hill. Many expected Hill to have a down year going from Patrick Mahomes to Tua.
The Miami Dolphins quarterback has claimed in the past that he doesn’t listen to the opinions of outsiders. His recent comments proved that he surely does.
When he was asked by reporters where he has grown the most, and where he’d like to grow in the second half of the season, he took that time to take a victory lap on his critics.
“Well, I think I’ve grown a lot with the deep balls, huh? Don’t we think?” Tua said. “That was probably a subtle jab, but it was a jab. So I would say the deep ball, and then I can continue to get better on the deep ball.”
“I think throughout OTAs and throughout training camp, we could see the potential that we had as a team, offensively and defensively,” he said Wednesday. “We’re not afraid to talk about Super Bowls here. We’re not afraid to talk about going to a playoff game, having the opportunity to go to one, and then hopefully winning one.
“I would say I have full belief that we are capable [of winning a Super Bowl].”

The Dolphins have gotten better even further by acquiring Chubb from the Denver Broncos and Wilson from the San Francisco 49ers before Tuesday’s trade deadline in an effort to strengthen their odds at a Super Bowl run this season.
Miami has won two games in a row entering its Week 9 matchup with the Chicago Bears.
The team ranks third in passing yards, with Tua Tagovailoa showing immense improvements at throwing the football deep to wide receiver duo Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
The Dolphins quarterback missed some time after a pair of scary head injuries, but his numbers still look great as he has thrown for 1,678 yards, 12 touchdowns, and three interceptions in six games. Tua has also completed 69.9% of his passes.
