Even though the fan base were probably mad at Troy Aikman on Monday, they couldn’t help but agree with his harsh assessment of the team.
The ex-Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame quarterback and current ESPN football analyst ripped the Eagles and head coach Nick Sirianni during their terrible performance in an NFC wild-card playoff game loss.
As Philly trailed in the fourth quarter, Aikman was blunt when talking about the Eagles.
“It’s a defeated team, and they were when they came in,” Aikman said of the Eagles. “And there’s been no life to this group, really throughout the entire ballgame.”
Aikman said it seemed like they’re “not really into this ballgame” based on poor body language.

Aikman then cited the Eagles’ loss of both their coordinators from last year’s Super Bowl as a contributing factor.
“Amazing that a team that began the year 10-1 was unable to get to 12 wins. I don’t think there’s any question that they do miss Shane Steichen. … The losses of the coordinators has impacted this team,” Aikman said, noting that good coordinators are “hard to find.”
He wasn’t done as he dove into the Eagles after the game was over.
“You’ve got to re-energize the fan base and to do that, there has to be changes,” Aikman said after the game. “Will there be changes? Will it be Nick Sirianni? I don’t know, but I wouldn’t be surprised. … You can’t go into next season with the status quo. … It’s going to be a long offseason for the Eagles.”
Jalen Hurts struggled his way to 250 passing yards but only one touchdown pass on the night. The Eagles gained 275 yards in the game and were 0-for-9 on third downs.
The Eagles finished the regular season 11-6 after beginning it 10-1.
Now the Eagles head into the offseason with questions surrounding the head coach Nick Nick Sirianni as well as quarterback Jalen Hurts. Not to mention, they do not know what type of head space AJ Brown is in after he deleted all Eagles-related material from his social media.
