Week 10 closed with the drama of a Monday Night game as the Denver Broncos outlasted the Buffalo Bills to win, 24-22, in Highmark Stadium.
Not only were the Buffalo Bills in the midst of having a terrible game, but they were also reminded of their playoff failures. The franchise is still one of 12 NFL teams that have never won a Super Bowl, though they have been close a number of times. They famously lost four consecutive years in the big game during the early 1990s.
ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast showed a graphic about the Bills postseason failures the past few seasons and it was perfectly set up for Troy Aikman to bury them.
He chose the high road since he beat Buffalo in two Super Bowls.
In what was an incredibly disappointing performance in front of the home fans, Buffalo fell to the Denver Broncos 24-22 on a last-second field goal that was previously missed but a penalty for having 12 men on the field would give the Broncos a closer shot to win the game.
Denver Broncos kicker Will Lutz’s potential game-winning kick missed wide right the first time and that likely had the fan base going crazy for several reasons as they thought they won only to have their hopes shattered and it reminded them of Scott Norwood’s missed 47-yard field goal attempt for the Buffalo Bills at the end of Super Bowl XXV which also went wide right.
