Two weeks after returning from a hamstring ailment, Deebo Samuel is back on the injury report.
Deebo Samuel was limited all week during practices as the team prepares for its Week 12 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver emerged from Monday night’s win over the Arizona Cardinals with a hamstring injury.
Speaking to the media on Friday, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan announced that Samuel is once again dealing with a hamstring issue, but this time, it was much more different from the previous one he dealt with that cost him Week 8.
“No, it was something different,” Shanahan said, via ProFootballTalk. “We got back at like seven in the morning, I’m sure he went home and slept for a while. It was a little weird day. He didn’t feel it much on Tuesday. Got the information on Wednesday and then we were safe about it.”
The 49ers have listed Samuel as “questionable” for Sunday’s game against the Saints.
Deebo returned to play in San Francisco’s Week 10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, catching two passes for 24 yards and carrying the ball four times for 27 yards. The multitalented receiver is again making an impact as he has caught 41 passes for 468 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 6.5 yards per carry and scoring two touchdowns on the ground in 2022.
