Tampa Bay wore its pastel orange throwback jerseys once a year from 2009-12 before the NFL installed its one-helmet policy.
This past Sunday, the team brought them back out for their matchup against the Detroit Lions. It was the first time in over a decade the Bucs wore their throwback orange uniforms, and although they looked flashy, it did not help them in the game.
Tampa Bay suffered its second defeat of the season, losing 20-6 to Detroit.
After the game, things got quite awkward when Lions star lineman Penei Sewell asked Wirfs to do a jersey swap after the game.
“Let me get that,” said Sewell to Wirfs pointing to his jersey.
“This?! I gotta keep this one,” said Wirfs in response to Sewell’s request. “It’s the creamsicle, you know I gotta keep the creamsicle one.”

You cannot blame him.
Wirfs did say that he was going to send Sewell another standard Buccaneers jersey to Sewell, so the Lions star wasn’t going to leave completely empty-handed.
Baker Mayfield finished the game with 206 yards while completing 19 of his 37 passes — just over a 50 percent completion rate. He also threw an interception while passing for no touchdowns.
While still leading the NFC South, the Buccaneers will need to see consistency from Mayfield if they want to see postseason play.
On the other side, Jared Goff recorded 353 yards and 2 TDs as the Detroit Lions feasted on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to move to 5-1 on the season.
