Marissa Lawrence had a heartwarming message for her husband, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, following the team’s elimination.
The Jaguars’ improbable 2022 season ended at the hands of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round on Saturday. Even though Mahomes was limited for most of the game with an ankle sprain, K.C. escaped with a 27-20 victory.
Two days after the loss, Marissa shared two photos and a video of her and Trevor in an Instagram post. She captioned the post, “As always I am so proud of you Trev. I’m honored to be by your side through it all!! What a year.. so much to be thankful for! #IWATJ”.
2022 will go down as one of the most successful seasons in Jaguars history. The club went from finishing as the league’s worst team in back-to-back seasons to winning the AFC South, finishing the year on a 6-1 run following a 3-7 start.
The Jaguars also completed a comeback for the ages against the Los Angeles Chargers on Super Wild Card Weekend. They trailed 27-0 in the first half, only to rally for a last-second 31-30 victory on Riley Patterson’s 36-yard field goal.
Jacksonville reached the postseason for only the second time since 2008, and they won a playoff game on top of it all. Without a doubt, 2022 was only the start of something special in Duval County.
